Psychonauts follows the events of the VR puzzle, Psychonauts In the Rhombus of Ruin, where Razputin aqua assists in the rescue of Truman Zanotto, the Grand Head of Psychonauts. Raz must uncover a plot to destroy the psychic spy agency from the inside after returning to the Psychonauts headquarters. As a poor intern, Raz’s resources are very limited, so he must work within the rules to discover a truth closer to his heart than he could ever have imagined.

Double Fine Productions was given the daunting task of connecting the various plot lines laid out in the 2005 original release. Razputin plays the role of a detective trying to put their minds back together. Each mind he creates leads to another clue in the grand mystery.

Pychonauts2 is another ambitious project that tackles mental health topics like guilt, depression, unresolved grieving, and even substance abuse. The writers managed to address these topics with humor and sensitivity without losing any of the lighthearted humor that the series is famous for.
