Resident Evil: The Board Game is now at its Kickstarter goal

Resident Evil: The Board Game is currently raising money via Kickstarter. It has now reached more than 10x its initial Kickstarter goal at PS100,000. At the time this article was written, it sits at PS1,026,42424.

This new game incorporates the 2002 remake from 1996 Resident Evil into a procedurally generated tabletop game format. Resident Evil players will need to survive the zombie outbreak at Spencer Mansion, just like the Sega Saturn and PlayStation source material. They also have to discover the truth about Umbrella’s activities there. Apart from the fact that it is a board game, the main difference with Resident Evil is that you can now play the game cooperatively for your first time.

Who is responsible for Resident Evil: The Board Game

Steamforged Games designed the “port”, which was inspired by other Capcom tabletop hits like Resident Evil 2 and 3: The Board Game, and Devil May Cry 3: The Bloody Palace. You can play not only as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine in the series, but also as less-known characters from S.T.A.R.S. Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers are two examples of the team.

Steamforged Games promises that the game will include bio-organic weapons that were used in the series. However, it will also feature elements such as inventory management, puzzle solving, and backtracking, which are all common elements in the video games. The game’s sessions can last up to 27 hours. However, there are 60-90 minute rulesets that can be accessed in a shorter time frame.

Resident Evil: The Board Game looks like it will be a faithful REmake experience. That’s really cool. This is yet another unique and fascinating way Capcom has celebrated the 25th anniversary of the franchise. We are happy that it exists. You can get your copy here on Kickstarter through November 12, 2021.

Resident Evil has also released Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, a feature film. This page will provide more information.
